GT4 Winter Series Round 1: Estoril, Portugal – Weekend Round-Up

The GT4 Winter Series roared to life this weekend at the iconic Estoril circuit in Portugal, and what a thrilling opener it was for Century Motorsport and the drivers of car #71, Ravi Ramyead and Charlie Robertson. Thursday & Friday: Fine-Tuning for Success

BMW GT4 EVO In Action!

The weekend began with two days of testing, as car #71 hit the track to fine-tune racing lines and vehicle setups in their new BMW GT4 EVO. With every lap, the drivers worked tirelessly to extract the maximum performance from their car, laying a solid foundation for what would be a challenging race weekend ahead.

Saturday: Qualifying and Race 1

Saturday kicked off with two back-to-back 15-minute qualifying sessions. Each driver had their time to shine, pushing car #71 to its limits in search of the perfect lap. These sessions determined the starting grid for Race 1, and Century Motorsport secured a P9 overall starting position—P1 in class.

By the afternoon, the team was back on track for Race 1, a 30-minute sprint. With the sun shining and conditions ideal, Ravi and Charlie executed a flawless race strategy, steadily climbing the leaderboard. They crossed the finish line in P7 overall and a fantastic P1 in class, an excellent start to their campaign.

Sunday: Wet Weather Challenges

Sunday presented a mixed bag of weather conditions, keeping the team on their toes.

    • Race 2:
Starting from P7 overall and P1 in class, the team faced deteriorating weather as the race was officially declared wet. Treacherous track conditions and reduced visibility tested both drivers’ skills and composure. Despite the challenges, car #71 maintained their class lead, finishing P10 overall and P1 in class.

      Race 3

The third and final race of the weekend—a one-hour endurance battle—saw car #71 once again line up P7 overall and P1 in class. Ravi and Charlie drove a disciplined and tactical race, skillfully navigating the competition to finish P6 overall while securing another P1 in class. Their consistency and teamwork earned valuable points, solidifying their dominance in the class standings
