The opening round of the British GT Championship took place last weekend at Donington Park, with favourable weather conditions throughout. Thankfully, all sessions remained dry, allowing for uninterrupted running across the event. Car #71, driven by Ravi Ramyead and Charlie Robertson, secured an impressive combined qualifying result of P4 overall and P2 in the Pro-Am class. Having competed together in the GT4 Winter Series earlier this year—racing at venues such as Valencia, Barcelona, and Aragón—the pairing showed strong early-season form.
Car #14, featuring GT racing newcomer Branden Templeton (stepping up from GB4) alongside experienced driver Chris Salkeld, took to the track for their maiden qualifying session of the season. Despite being a fresh pairing, the team worked efficiently and delivered a solid performance, qualifying P7 overall and P2 in the Silver Cup category.
Race day saw continued dry conditions, setting the stage for a competitive two-hour contest. With a mandatory pit stop and driver change, each driver completed approximately one hour behind the wheel. Both GT4 entries demonstrated strong racecraft while navigating traffic from the faster GT3 class.
Ramyead and Robertson executed a determined drive to finish P2 overall, maintaining their P2 position within the Pro-Am
class. Meanwhile, Car #14 made significant progress during the race, climbing to P6 overall while holding firm to secure a P2 podium finish in the Silver Cup.
Overall, it was a successful start to the 2025 British GT campaign, with both entries achieving class podiums and laying a strong foundation for the season ahead. The team now looks forward to Round 2, set to take place at Silverstone.
