Positive P5 Finish for the #42 BMW M4 GT3 EVO in Silver Cup Class
We couldn’t have asked for a more encouraging start to the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup than what we achieved this weekend at Paul Ricard. After months of preparation, development, and hard work behind the scenes, our #42 BMW M4 GT3 EVO—piloted by Will Moore, Jarrod Waberski, and Mex Jansen—delivered a solid performance that leaves us proud and hungry for more.
Free Practice was about getting into rhythm, and the trio settled in quickly with a best lap of 1:55.568, placing us P12 in the Silver Cup. We knew there was more in the tank, and Pre-Qualifying showed that, with a nearly identical time of 1:55.523, which bumped us up to P3 in class. It was a tight field, and every tenth counted. The lads stepped it up when it mattered most in Qualifying—delivering a superb 1:54.941 that secured P11 on the overall grid and left us confident heading into the race.
When the lights went out on Saturday, Will Moore took the start and gave us exactly what we needed—a clean, assertive opening stint that moved us up to P8 overall. His composure and control in traffic laid a strong foundation for the rest of the race.
At the 2.5-hour mark, Jarrod Waberski took over and continued the momentum. He put in a calm and consistent stint, navigating traffic and pit cycles while keeping us locked into the top 10, still sitting in P8.
With Two hours to go, Mex Jansen climbed in and put on a fantastic display of focus and racecraft. Mex not only defended brilliantly but also capitalized on opportunities as they came. By the time the checkered flag waved, he had brought the car home in P5—an excellent result to kick off the season and one that reflects the potential of this driver lineup and the work put in by every member of the team.
This result gives us a solid platform to build from as we look ahead to Monza at the end of May. We’re under no illusions about the level of competition this season, but we’ve shown we belong in the fight. The #42 car is quick, the drivers are hungry, and the team is more motivated than ever.
Onward to Monza!
