Century Motorsport are set to return to British GT3 this weekend for the penultimate round of the 2017 British GT Championship as Tom Hibbert and Ben Tuck join the team to make their GT3 debut.
Hibbert is no stranger to Ginetta machinery, this year racing in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup and has also made a number of appearances in the highly popular Ginetta G57 Prototype in Europe. This weekend however will be a new test for the Grantham based driver as he takes on one of Europe’s most popular GT racing championships in the top class.
Joining Hibbert to make his British GT debut will be Caterham racer Ben Tuck. Having taken his first taste of Leeds machinery earlier this year in a GT4 specification Ginetta G55 in GT Cup, Tuck is looking forward to the giant leap into Ginetta’s GT3 challenger. Buoyed by this new opportunity, Tuck has been a front runner in the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship in the past and see’s British GT as an important step in his career.
Tom Hibbert – #19 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT3:
“After this weekend, I will have raced every Ginetta bar the G40 Junior and GRDC cars! I can’t get enough of them and I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth into the GT3. The G55 we race in Supercup is a superb car so I can only imagine the potential of the GT3. I’ve got a good teammate in Ben and there’s no doubt we’ll have our eyes on silverware, even if it is our debut weekend.”
Ben Tuck – #19 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT3:
“It’s an amazing opportunity to be driving for a factory backed team. It’s my first time directly representing a manufacturer as opposed to a team that runs lots of different cars! I can’t wait for the weekend, it’s a bit surreal at the moment, it’s a 
massive jump up for me! Previously the quickest car I have driven is a Ginetta G55 in GT4 Supercup specification in the GT-Cup Championship. To be jumping into a GT3 a month after my first and only time in a GT4 is really exciting. I can’t wait to adapt my driving style to suit another new car for me. I love the challenge of driving new and faster cars, and I’m really thankful to Ginetta and Century for giving me the chance. I love this circuit, it’s one of the most iconic tracks in the world. I’ve raced here before but only in a little Mazda MX-5, a bit different from a GT3! That weekend in the Mazda was my first ever pole position in cars and I also gained the lap record in the race, but I don’t want to think about that and put any more pressure on myself! The GT3 is going to be much more exciting and difficult to get round the track.”
