Formula Ford ace Murray joins Century Motorsport for British GT4

The #43 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 will feature a revised driver line up for the final rounds of the 2017 British GT Championship, with multiple Formula Ford Festival Champion Niall Murray from Ireland teaming up with Jacob Mathiassen.

Murray is no stranger to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit from his time spent in the Ginetta Junior Championship. A winner in the past, the Irishman highlights the longer configuration of the Kent circuit as one of his favourites and a key part in his decision to join from this round on-wards.

Having spent the last number of years winning various saloon and single-seater championships across Ireland and the UK, Niall has been keen to get some further experience of endurance racing, having made his long-distance debut at the Silverstone 24 Hours earlier this year in a Ginetta G50. Both he and his new teammate Mathiassen will be hoping they can make their mark over the next two weekends amongst some of the other strong silver/silver line-ups in the series.

Niall Murray – #43 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT4:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to get this opportunity with Century Motorsport. I’ve wanted to do some GT racing for a long time and am very excited that finally the right deal has been put in place. Brands Hatch and Donington have been two of my most favourite and most successful circuits so I’m really looking forward to getting on track on Saturday! Thanks to Nathan [Freke] and Paul [Grogan] from Century, all my sponsors and everybody else who made this happen!”

Nathan Freke – Team Principal, Century Motorsport:
“Niall is a driver we’ve been well aware of since his successful time in the Ginetta Juniors and he was always a front runner there. Since then he’s had plenty of success so we are delighted that he has decided to join up with us for his British GT debut. Our GT4 season has been a little up and down this year, but hopefully we’ve had our share of bad luck now and I really believe Jacob and Niall have the talent to run at the sharp end this weekend.”
