Former Champions Century Motorsport are delighted to announce Ben Green as their first entry into this years BTCC-supporting Ginetta GT4 Supercup.
18-year-old Green joins the team following a successful graduation to the bigger Ginetta G55 in 2016 with family-run team Super Green Racing, a season that earned him three podium finishes during the year.
The Essex driver has already made two appearances for Century, impressing Team Principal Nathan Freke during both outings in the teams new Ginetta G57-P2 Prototype in Estoril last November, and taking part in his first Endurance race just a few weeks ago at the Dubai 24 Hours. Both outings earned the young star a podium finish, but his speed and consistency while under pressure was what made him stand out most.
Now with the benefit of a wealth of experience at the wheel of a Ginetta G55, Ben is hoping he can combine that with Century’s proven capabilities to aid his bid in challenging for the overall title in 2017.
Ben Green – Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT4:
“I’m very excited to be committed to racing with Century Motorsport for 2017 in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup. I have already had success with the team at Estoril and Dubai in the last few months and this has set me up nicely for the season this year. A massive thanks goes to Greg and all who have helped me as part of Super Green Racing, I wouldn’t be in the position I am without the hard work put in by everyone who has been involved in the team over the last 4 years. Now the focus goes towards Brands Hatch where we have the first round of the championship!”
Nathan Freke – Team Principal, Century Motorsport:
“I’m very pleased to confirm Ben as our first GT4 Supercup signing for 2017. He caught our eye for a while as a very competitive package and that was confirmed when he joined us in Estoril in our Ginetta G57-P2 late last year, but even more so behind the wheel of our podium-finishing Ginetta G55 at the Dubai 24H earlier this month. After an incident during the night, we all had to put in qualifying-style laps to get ourselves back up the order and Ben certainly didn’t disappoint. If we can take this type of pace and consistency into the championship this year, I don’t see why we can’t challenge for the title.”
