Nathan Freke and Ben Tuck are set to join forces for the final round of the 2017 British GT Championship at Donington Park this weekend behind the wheel of the #69 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT3. The always popular final round at the Derby circuit will once again run over two hours on Sunday afternoon.
Ben Tuck had been due to make his debut at the penultimate round in Brands Hatch, only for a Free Practice One incident with his co-driver at the wheel ruled them out of the weekend’s action during the early part of the session. Having come so close to driving the fastest car in his career, Tuck is all the more eager for proceedings to get underway, this time with the hugely experienced and rapid BRDC member Freke alongside him.
Having initially planned to take part in a full season behind the wheel of the heavily revised and improved Ginetta G55 GT3 alongside American Harry Gottsacker, the newly confirmed BRDC member Nathan Freke is looking forward to getting to Donington Park this weekend. Freke is no stranger to the Derby circuit, having taken part in the season finale aboard a GT4 specification Ginetta in three of the last four visits, Nathan knows what it takes to run at the sharp end of the field and will be aiming to end a mixed season on a high.
Nathan Freke – #69 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT3:
“It’s a shame how Brands turned out with Ben not getting a run out in the car. However that’s behind us now and I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel myself and helping Ben to deliver a top result this weekend. We saw in Silverstone earlier this year just what the G55 GT3 is capable of and it’s been a shame we haven’t been able to show the merits of our hard work since. Hopefully this weekend will give us that opportunity.”
Ben Tuck – #69 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT3:
“I’m so excited to get another chance to show what I can do in the GT3. Donington is one of my favourite circuits and I’m feeling confident that I can do well for Century and for Ginetta. I just can’t wait to get out and contribute to the team effort properly this weekend.”
