Century sign first driver for brand new Ginetta GT Pro Class

Following on from their recent announcement, Century Motorsport are pleased to confirm that they have signed their first driver for the brand-new-for-2021 Ginetta GT Pro Class: 17-year-old Blake Angliss from Coventry.

Angliss joins the Fenny Compton based team, after six successful years of karting, having been introduced to the sport on his 11th birthday.

Angliss recently dipped his toes into the world of car racing, competing in the final three rounds of the 2020 Ginetta GT5 Challenge. Angliss scored a top-10 finish in his debut at Donington Park, later breaking into the top-six at Silverstone (National) and then he matched his best result of sixth place at the final round at Silverstone (GP). Angliss also finished third overall in the 2020 Autumn Cup at Trent Valley Kart Club (Senior X30).

As Ginetta stalwarts, Century Motorsport are thrilled to be competing in this brand new series and cannot wait to challenge for the 2021 GT Pro Class title with local racing driver Angliss.

Century Motorsport still have selected seats available for 2021. Contact Team Owner, Nathan Freke, on 01295770115 or nathan@century-motorsport.com to discuss any opportunities.

Freke:

“It’s great to be the first team to confirm a GT-Pro car for 2021. Blake is a young driver who has great aspirations for his future driving career and the GT-Pro is the perfect platform for him to hone his driving skills and start to forge his future. He has a great attitude and with our experience and infrastructure I am very excited about our future together.

Century Motorsport has always worked hard to offer a ladder system for its drivers and the GT-Pro class is a very welcome addition rung of that ladder. I have to congratulate Ginetta on creating a fantastic car and for seeing a gap in the racing world for this class. The prize on offer is simply amazing and should be a great incentive for any young driver looking to progress in motorsport.

We are looking forward to taking delivery of our new car and getting started with Blake. We are talking to other interested parties for GT-Pro and will be fielding a 3 car team alongside our G55 Supercup programme.”

Angliss:

“Century Motorsport are a very professional team with a good amount of previous success with the Ginetta G55, which puts them in good stead to be able to set up a competitive car that hopefully I can take to the title next year in the new GT Pro class.

We had a few meetings before we decided to sign on the dotted line with them, finding out more about the team and what they can offer and understanding how they operate. With all that to take in I believe I can work with Century to benefit both the team and myself.

In the long term, Century can offer me a stepping stone within the team to learn and earn my stripes on a potential three year pathway from GT Pro to GT4 Supercup and then British GT. Century can help me get closer to my aim in the motorsport industry of racing at Le Mans.

All in all, I think as a driver Century can help me to develop on what I have learnt from my past racing experience and I highly look forward to working with the team and challenging for the title at the end of the year.”
