Century Motorsport ready to fight for the 2020 British GT4 title

Century Motorsport announce their first driver pairing for the 2020 British GT Championship: Century regular, Andrew Gordon-Colebrooke, will be joined by Canadian driver, Ben Hurst. The talented duo will be competing in one of Century’s championship-winning BMW M4 GT4s.

Gordon-Colebrooke ran with Century Motorsport in the 2019 British GT Championship in the BMW M4 GT4, after stepping up from the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup. He also raced one of the M4 GT4s at the 2019 Dubai 24-Hour so is no stranger to the German-built BMW Motorsport machinery. Gordon-Colebrooke has some seat time lined up prior to the season start, beginning with the Dubai 24-Hour in January.

Hurst started his racing career in 2015, with only half a season of karting experience under his belt. After four very successful years racing in single seaters, Hurst made the switch to GT racing, competing in the 2019 British GT Championship in an Aston Martin Vantage GT4. After testing the BMW in late October, Hurst was very impressed with the car and the team and that made the decision very easy for his 2020 plans. With the Dubai 24-Hour also being part of Hurst’s programme, it will be a very well prepared pairing before the start of the 2020 season.

Century Motorsport lifted both the British GT4 team and driver championships in 2018 (finishing with an impressive 1-2 in the driver standings). They were also crowned ‘Team of the Year’ [by British GT Fans] and the BMW M4 GT4 was named ‘Race Car of the Year’ [at the Professional MotorSport World Expo Awards].

Nathan Freke, Team Owner:

“I’m really pleased to be working with Andrew again. This will be the third season we have worked together and I really felt he turned a corner toward the end of last season in terms of pace and his approach. We tested with Ben after the season had finished and he gelled exceptionally well with the team and loved the BMW M4. I could see straight away that Ben and Andrew would work well together with their attitude towards things. With both of them racing in the Dubai 24-Hour with us, it’s the perfect way to prepare for the season. The M4 is the most successful new era GT4 car and we are looking to replicate our 2018 season in 2020. The whole team are hungry for success.

Gordon-Colebrooke:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be teaming up with Century Motorsport again for another crack at the British GT GT4 season. Last year was a big learning curve for me and I’ll be looking to take those lessons into 2020. Partnering with Ben is a positive move as well; he’s also coming into his second year with the championship so I know he’s just as hungry as I am to go searching for success in the coming season. With both team and drivers having a good amount of experience in the championship, all the parts are there for us to have a successful season together. I can’t wait!

Hurst:

“I am thrilled to be working with Century Motorsport and BMW for the 2020 season. I am very impressed in how they work and the car is fantastic to drive! I am really looking forward to challenging for some strong results in 2020. I know Andrew and myself will be a strong driver line-up along with the team that Nathan has assembled. It gives me a lot of confidence going into the 2020 season.”
