Century Motorsport Breaks Record in Porsche Carrera Cup GB Rounds 13&14 Silverstone National

PCCGB Rounds 13&14 Race Report

Pre-Weekend & Qualifying

The team arrived at Silverstone with confidence. After a strong campaign so far, the goal was clear, maximise points, lock down a strong grid and execute when it mattered. Each car ran through set ups, and fine tuning in a positive Wednesday testing. Conditions were typical for late-September: cool track temperatures, variable wind gusts, and forecast rain creeping in.

In qualifying, Century Motorsport locked in excellent positions giving us the platform for attack in both races.

Andrew Rackstraw (Pro) – 54.565 – P2 just missed out on Pole by 0.062

George Gamble (Pro) – 54.755 – P7 separated from Pole by only 0.252

Angus Whiteside (Pro) – 54.653 – P3 stormed up the timing sheet late on

Henry Dawes (ProAm) – 54.803 – P4 in class P9 Overall straight on the pace early clocking a very strong time

Carl Cavers (Am) – 55.325 – P1 in class by 0.040 and P15 Overall

Race 1 — Century Motorsport breaks a record and locks out the podium

What a performance. From lights-out to flag, Century Motorsport showed its strength with a clean, controlled, and ruthless execution. Century broke a record in Porsche Carrera Cup GB completely locking out the podium with Century cars!

  • Andrew Rackstraw led from the front, pulling a very healthy gap. His pace was pinpoint, and he managed his tyres beautifully. He took a comfortable victory, securing a major result for the team.

  • George Gamble worked through the field, engaged in close fights, and defended smartly. His consistency and racecraft earned him P2, completing a one-two for the Century-associated stable.

  • Angus Whiteside, perhaps the surprise standout, capitalised on late opportunities, passed rivals cleanly, and held composure in the closing laps. He secured P3, giving Century Motorsport a full podium sweep.

Behind them, the rest of the Century entries fought hard: class battles, managing traffic, and avoiding mistakes. Despite an incident at the start that saw Henry in the gravel, others faltered around him while he stayed consistent to still come home P5 in class (14th Overall) and take Pro-Am Fastest Lap. Carl had a race long battle with Beeson but was ultimately passed at Luffield and Woodcote and had to settle for P2 in Class (13th Overall). He still took Am Fastest Lap!

After the race, Rackstraw drew the number-5 ball, meaning the top five grid spots were reversed for Race 2 — setting up challenging starting positions.

Race 2 — A solid double podium in tougher conditions

With the reversed grid, Race 2 would be less straightforward, but Century still delivered. It was a nose to tail race that was intense!

  • Starting in P3,  Angus Whiteside was confidently carving his way into contention. By mid-race he was fighting hard for the win, and in the closing stages he defended well to cross the line in P2 overall.
  • Andrew Rackstraw, meanwhile, started slightly further back in P5 but methodically picked his battles. He briefly passed Whiteside but was locked in battle and overtaken not long later, choosing to put the championship hopes first. He mounted a late attack, ultimately securing P3 overall to join the podium party.
  • George Gamble started 4th, playing the team game for Andrew and fantastically fending off Martin for as long as he could before coming home in a solid P6

That result vaulted Andrew to the championship lead with 2 Rounds to go!

Though the top step eluded us this time, a double podium under a reversed grid is a tremendous team achievement and ⅚ Podiums secured over the 2 Races.

  • Henry Dawes battled hard in such a tight Pro-Am group ultimately coming home P6 in Class (P12 Overall)
  • Carl Cavers again had a thrilling race long battle with his Am rival Beeson almost coming across the line side by side but settled for P2 in Class and Fastest Lap (P15 Overall) putting on a clinic in racecraft for the spectators

Championship Impact

  • Rackstraw’s win and podium means he takes the championship lead going into the final circuit with 2 rounds to go!
  • Whiteside’s performances reinforce his status as a consistent contender.
  • The 1-2-3 Porsche Cup Record in Race 1 is a huge highlight for Century Motorsport and proof of pace, depth, and execution across the driver line-up.

The team now heads to the final rounds at Brands Hatch full of momentum. With this Silverstone weekend in the bag, morale is high and the drivers’ confidence is firing. If the team can deliver again under pressure, the championship is within reach.
