Century Motorsport is proud to announce the return of Angus Whiteside and Henry Dawes to the team for the upcoming 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season. After a successful debut season with Century Motorsport in 2023, Whiteside and Dawes are geared up and ready to take on the competition once again.
Angus Whiteside, returning for his second season with Century Motorsport in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, brings with him a relentless drive to succeed. He had an impressive season last year with the team, coming P4 overall in Pro-Am class last year, and taking P1 at Silverstone with five other podium finishes throughout the season. Whiteside has been competing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe during the winter season, so he is ready to take on this season. With his unwavering dedication and competitive spirit make him a force to be reckoned with on the track.
“Very happy that Nathan will still tolerate my high energy personality! There is nowhere else I would want to be, not only are Century Team Champions, there is never any complacency or arrogance,” Whiteside said. “There is also room to grow within Century going forward so fostering a great relationship now will only make working together better in the future. This will be my 3rd year in Porsche GB now, and after a strong winter programme in Europe, I hope to be fast out the blocks.”
Henry Dawes, owner and driver of the infamous Domino’s Pizza car, showcased impressive skill and determination in his maiden season in the Porsche last year, securing a second place finish at Silverstone amongst some other great finishes. Dawes has been with the team since 2021, competing in the Ginetta SuperCup for two seasons and having a debut in the BMW GT3 in British GT 2022 at Brands Hatch where he came an incredible P3.
“I’m delighted to be back racing in Carrera Cup GB with Century Motorsport, it’s been a long winter and I can’t wait for the season to get started!” Dawes said.
Team Principal Nathan Freke commented “Having Angus and Henry complete our line up for PCCGB is something we are all very happy about here at Century. 2 massive personalities in the paddock and both returning customers. Its great to have the continuity to be able to keep building on last year.”
“Angus, whilst relatively inexperienced in racing terms has a clear natural talent and I believe that the Pro/Am title should be a firm goal for him. He has been doing the winter series in Carrera Cup and should be coming out of the blocks hot. Henry should be focussing on returning to the podium more regularly. It’s his second year in the championship now so he knows what to expect and finished last year strong, so lets hope we can pick up where we left off!”
The 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season promises to be an exhilarating showcase of skill, speed, and competition, and Century Motorsport is proud to have Henry Dawes and Angus Whiteside on board for the journey ahead. The season gets underway at Donington Park on the 27th and 28th of April.
