Bronze Glory at Monza

The legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza played host to another thrilling round of the GT World Challenge, where Oman Racing by Century Motorsport arrived determined to build on the encouraging pace shown at the season opener in Paul Ricard, France.

After a hard fought first race, the team travelled to Italy confident, motivated, and hungry to score valuable championship points. The driver trio of Javier Sagrera, Ahmad Al Harthy, and Calan Williams showed impressive speed throughout the weekend, delivering a strong qualifying performance to secure P8 on the grid and setting the stage for an exciting three hour endurance battle.

Race day, however, had a very different story in store.

The opening moments of the race were thrown into chaos as a massive multi car accident unfolded, collecting several competitors and immediately testing every driver’s awareness and determination. Starting the race, Calan Williams demonstrated exceptional skill and composure, expertly avoiding the incident and keeping the Oman Racing by Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 out of trouble.

The drama was far from over.

Throughout the three hour contest, the race was interrupted by multiple incidents across different sections of the circuit, bringing repeated yellow flags and creating one of the most demanding races of the season. Despite the constant challenges, the team remained focused, executing flawless strategy, consistent pit stops, and determined driving.

As the race progressed, Calan Williams, Ahmad Al Harthy, and Javier Sagrera fought relentlessly, carving their way through the field in an outstanding recovery drive. After surviving countless incidents and gaining more than 30 positions, the trio produced an incredible performance to bring the BMW M4 GT3 home in P3 in the Bronze Class, securing a well deserved place on the iconic Monza podium.

The result marks a huge reward for everyone involved. From the drivers who pushed to the limit, to the engineers, mechanics, and support crew who worked tirelessly throughout the entire week, every member of Oman Racing by Century Motorsport played their part in achieving this fantastic result.

The podium not only delivers valuable championship points but also provides tremendous momentum heading into the next rounds of the GT World Challenge season. It is a testament to the team’s resilience, teamwork, and determination to never give up, even when faced with one of the most chaotic races of the year.

Monza will be remembered as a race of survival and exceptional teamwork and for Oman Racing by Century Motorsport, it was a weekend where hard work truly paid off in the best possible way.
