Century Motorsport have announced that they will be competing in various events throughout the winter season, entering two GT3 chassis in all three events.
The first of the three event’s is the Gulf 12 hrs, held in Abu Dhabi at the fantastic track, Yas Marina, on the 15th of December. For the first time since 2012, the 12hrs will be hosted in a different format.
Unlike it’s earlier events where the 12hr race was occasionally split into two equal parts of 6hrs, for the first time in its 13 year history, the Gulf 12hr will be split into an 8 hour endurance, followed by a 2hrs break and finishing with a 4hrs sprint to the chequered flag. This allows the drivers, teams and spectators to experience the magic of an opening ceremony under the night sky for the second race of the day. This race will be entered with the current GT3 chassis.
"After having a year out from the Gulf 12, we are looking forward to returning with Two BMW GT3’s. It is a great event and something we have always enjoyed been apart of in the past & looking forwards to coming back, hopefully with a successful venture." - Nathan Freke (Team Principal & Owner).
The second event planned in the Century calendar is the famous Dubai 24hrs, held in mid January. Holding both the GT3 Pro-Am & GT3 Am wins from 2024, Century will be back to defend their titles with the help of the BMW M4 GT3 Chassis from 2024 along side the new long awaited BMW GT3 M4 EVO.
The Michelin sponsored race has been confirmed to take place between the 10th and the 12th of January 2025. Michelin Creventic have confirmed that there has been more than 40 teams enter with over 60 cars competing in the 20th Anniversary event, which is shaping up to be a very exciting race competing again teams and drivers all over the world.
"Dubai 24 hrs has been a part of our Winter Program every year since 2016, last year winning the Pro-Am and Am races as well as an overall podium was a fantastic achievement and one we are hoping to repeat this year with our Two GT3 cars." "Abu Dhabi 2024 was the first time we had done this event & we had great success in the GT4 category and after running in a podium position in the GT3's for the majority of the race, we are looking to come back and hopefully take that podium finish that eluded us last year." - Nathan Freke (Team Principal & Owner).
The third and final event confirmed in Century’s calendar will be the 6hrs of Abu Dhabi. Set between the 17th and the 19th of January 2025, Century are hoping to emulate their results from the Dubai 24hrs in 2024 with a podium finish.
Century feel that the winter program is very important for current and potential customers to gain good experience in climates that are warm, dry and
sunny on race tracks that are world famous with great facilities. It is the perfect recipe for testing and race craft development.
The Warwickshire based team will also be celebrating their 30th year in racing in 2025 with some exciting changes around the corner.
They will be running the BMW M4 GT3 for a second year in the Fanatec GT World Challenge after a stellar debut season with a star-studded line up as well as the usual British GT appearance.
They are hoping to keep that same momentum going into the 2025 season.
Plans for the GT4 are currently underway.
