Century Motorsport is delighted to confirm the return of Ravi Ramyead, joined by Charlie Robertson to its roster for the upcoming British GT Championship season. Having successfully navigated the ranks in the Ginetta GT Academy, Ramyead is set to take on the challenge of competing in the GT4 Class with the formidable BMW M4 GT4.
After a successful 2023 with Century where he scored 13 wins, 21 podiums and second place in the championship last year, Ramyead has quickly made a name for himself on the track. Ramyead honed his skills through the Ginetta Academy and gained valuable experience, preparing him for the challenges of the competitive British GT Championship.
“It’s great to be continuing with century motorsport and stepping up to British GT,” Ramyead expressed. “Making the transition from Ginetta to BMW has felt pretty natural in pre season testing and I’m really looking forward to the new challenges this championship brings.”
Robertson, renowned for his exceptional talent and dedication to motorsport, has ascended through the ranks of racing, earning accolades such as the inaugural winner of the Ginetta Junior Scholarship in 2012. With a career spanning various prestigious series including the British GT Championship, European Le Mans Series, and the World Endurance Championship, BRDC member, Robertson has made the move from Ginetta’s to BMW.
“I am hugely excited to get our season underway in British GT with Century Motorsport,” he said. “The GT4 category is looking stronger than ever, which is a huge motivation for both Ravi and I to make sure we leave no stone unturned in preparation. We are confident that the BMW M4 GT4 is a refined package, and look forward to the challenge!”
Robertson coached Ramyead through the Ginetta GTA last season, and the pair recently competed in the 24H Creventic Middle East Series with Century together, having a stunning victory in the Abu Dhabi GT4 Class and coming joint first in the class Championship. Their triumph in a demanding endurance race underscores their adaptability and resilience, qualities that bode well for their upcoming campaign in the British GT Championship.
Nathan Freke, Team Principal of Century Motorsport, remarked, “I’m very happy to see Ravi stepping up from the Ginetta Academy with us into the British GT Championship. His raw pace is undeniable and he has take to the BMW like a duck to water.”
“Charlie’s reputation precedes him and its great to be working with him again (last time in 2017 Ginetta GT3). This pairing is going to be a force to be reckoned with for sure and I’m excited to see how the season will pan out for them.”
The duo complete Century’s GT4 line up, alongside the other new Pro-Am signings, Ian Gough and Tom Wrigley in this year’s British GT Championship which begins Easter weekend at Oulton Park.
