Race Report: 3 Hours of Nürburgring — Round 4, GTWC Europe Endurance Cup
Overall Summary
It was a weekend of high-stakes drama at the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit. Amid the chaos and a late full course yellow, Century Motorsport’s #42 BMW M4 GT3 progressed through the field, held its ground and secured P19 Overall and 3rd place in the Silver Endurance Cup category, beating other strong Silver Cup contenders.
Highlights for #42 Century Motorsport
Qualifying Recap: Jarrod Waberski started Q1 with good pace putting the #42 Car 6th in class, Will Moore was next up in Q2 having to deal with tricky drizzly conditions managing 12th in class, Mex Jansen was last up in Q3, putting in a stellar lap time that was 11th Overall and storming to the top of Silver Cup class. This gave a combined qualifying position of P8 in Class for Century Motorsport. A position to certainly build from.
Race Summary and Stints: As ever with 59 entries it was a frantic start to Round 4 with contact up and down the field. Jarrod Waberski remained calm, beginning to make progress, avoiding risks and demonstrating a sharp opening stint before handing the car to Will Moore 5th in class. Will maintained 5th demonstrating consistent, solid pace handing over to Mex Jansen with a late full course yellow promoting Century to 3rd in Class. From there, Mex chased 2nd place who were carrying a 10 second time penalty, it was going down to the wire as Mex battled through traffic and congestion all round the track but ultimately brought the #42 Century Motorsport machine just 2 tenths shy of 2nd place. Settling for 3rd place was still an incredible result for the team who sit at the top of the Endurance Silver Cup Championship with an advantage of 18 points to Boutsen VDS going into the final round in Barcelona on the weekend of 10th-12th October.
Consistent pace: Completing 86 laps at an average lap time around 1:57.908, Jarrod Waberski, Will Moore, and Mex Jansen delivered a reliable performance to clinch P19 overall, which placed them P3 in Silver Cup.
Tactical calm amidst tension: The Silver Cup podium positions were fiercely contested. Despite mid-race incidents and fluctuating track conditions, the #42 crew remained steady and avoided costly mistakes.
Strategic execution: Century Motorsport’s #42 capitalised on consistency and error-free stints including benefitting from a fantastically timed full course yellow to secure valuable championship points.
Driver Contributions & Standings
- Mex Jansen: Continues his highly adaptable season, stepping up from his previous series to shine in GT3 endurance with immense pace.
- Will Moore: Maintained solid pace and contributed to the team’s high consistency across all stints.
- Jarrod Waberski: Returning with experience from GB3 and GB4 single-seaters, Waberski demonstrated a fast, clean stint amidst the starting chaos, helping the team avoid risks and finish on the podium in Silver.
This result propelled the driver trio’s lead in the Silver Cup standings further. With Nürburgring in the books, Waberski, Moore and Jansen hold the championship lead with 80 points, ahead of Boutsen VDS (62) and Paradine Competition (59)
Looking Ahead: Silver Cup Title Chase
With one final round remaining at Barcelona (10–12 October 2025), Century Motorsport enters with a healthy points lead. A well-executed strategy, combined with consistent driving from Waberski, Moore, and Jansen, gives them an excellent chance to win the Silver Endurance Cup title this year.
