In just over 2 weeks time, Century Motorsport will head to the Dubai Autodrome for the fifth year running, where they will mount a two-car attack at the annual 24H Dubai. The Fenny Compton based team have entered both of their race and championship winning BMW M4 GT4s and they have two impressive driver line-ups to announce for the prestigious event: Nathan Freke, Andrew Gordon-Colebrooke, William Paul and Rory Butcher will share car #429; Ben Hurst, Daren Jorgensen, Brett Strom and Angus Fender will share car #430.
Century Motorsport first raced at the 24H Dubai in 2016, where they came away with a class win.
Freke – Owner of Century Motorsport, BRDC member and 2006 Formula Ford Champion – has raced at the 24H Dubai annually since the team’s victorious 24H debut.
Gordon-Colebrooke raced with Century Motorsport at the 24H Dubai earlier this year in the M4 GT4, and continued to race the same car in the 2019 British GT Championship.
Butcher has achieved several podiums and wins during the last three years whilst racing in the British Touring Car Championship. This year he was crowned BTCC Independent Drivers’ Champion along with being awarded the Jack Sears Trophy.
Paul, who has previously raced with Butcher, completes the line-up in car #429.
Canadian driver Hurst started racing in single-seaters in 2015 and earlier this year he made the switch to GT racing, competing in the British GT Championship in an Aston Martin GT4.
Jorgensen and Strom have plenty of experience racing the BMW M4 GT4, mainly in the USA. The duo secured GT4 class victory at the 24H COTA just one month ago and since racing together, they have been very successful, collecting silverware along the way.
Fender entered the 24H Dubai earlier this year in a Ginetta G55 and came away with P2 in class. He also competed in the 2019 British GT Championship with Century Motorsport in the BMW M4 GT4 and the BMW M6 GT3. He secured two podium finishes in the GT3 car.
Century Motorsport are very well prepared for the gruelling twice around the clock event, where they will be up against some fierce competition. The race gets underway in sunny Dubai on Friday 10th January at 3pm (11am UK time) and can be viewed live on the 24H Series website and also on their YouTube channel.
Team Owner, Freke:
“After coming so close to replicating our success of 2016 last year, we have put everything into making the 2020 Dubai 24hours a victorious one. We have an amazing line up in both cars so will be really exciting to see how it pans out. I’m thankful for the support of our returning drivers and welcome the new drivers into the team. Roll on January 10th!”
