Century Motorsport are honoured to line up on the Formula 1 support grid with three entries in the Mobil 1 Porsche SuperCup

Century Motorsport are proud to announce that they have successfully entered three cars into the Porsche Super Cup event supporting the FIA Formula One Grand Prix on the first weekend of July.

After taking home the teams’ championship last season, the team are happy to have been given the opportunity to showcase their capabilities as champions on the larger stage that is the Formula One British Grand-Prix.

Team owner and former racing driver Nathan Freke said “We are thrilled to be entering the Porsche super cup championship. It is the pinnacle of the Porsche Carrera Cup championship world series and to be on the F1 package is something we have been aiming for a long time.

It’s great to be able to field three cars with regulars George Gamble and Angus Whiteside as well as Gus Burton returning to the Century family.

We hope we can put on a really good show and represent ourselves well and look to come away with some good results.”

The three drivers announced for the event are Angus Whiteside, George Gamble and Gus Burton.

Whiteside is in his second season of the Carrera Cup with Century, where he is currently leading the championship in the Pro-Am class. Whiteside stated “Very happy to be returning to the Porsche Supercup at Silverstone with Century. I am eager to bring my experience to the table along with Century’s which is ultimately a great combination. Excited to be with Gus & George as it brings a great dynamic to the team”.

His team mate George Gamble, former BTCC driver returned to the Porsche Carrera Cup this season and has also been off to a fantastic start where he is currently 2nd in the Championship in the Pro category. Gamble “I’m over the moon to be taking part in the Porsche Super Cup at Silverstone. It’s a huge opportunity and a chance to be competing in arguably the hardest single make series in the world on the Formula One stage. It will be super tough as a wild card but I am looking forward to rising to the challenge.” Gamble will be supported by Rosland Gold Racing during this event.

Lastly, Gus Burton will be joining the rest of the Century squad, having just recently been racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America where he was 2nd in the Championships Pro category. Burton has previously raced for Century prior to his stint in the USA winning the rookie Carrera Cup GB championship in 2022.

Burton said “After an uncertain year for my career, I’m delighted to have the opportunity to rejoin a team that I know and love to compete in the Porsche Super Cup for the Silverstone GP, let’s see what we can do!”

All three drivers are looking forward to the big event in two weeks time.
