Century Motorsport are thrilled to announce, just in time for the season opener, the driver pairing who have signed with them for this year’s British GT Championship in the second of Century’s BMW M4 GT4s.
Both drivers are no strangers to Century, having raced with the team in the past on several occasions. The first of this exciting duo is a driver who has previously raced with Century in the Ginetta SuperCup and the Dubai 24H – it is Jack Mitchell. Mitchell will be joined by Aleksander Schjerpen, who has raced with Century every year since 2014, be it a full championship or just a one-off race.
Schjerpen, 25, will not be racing at the season opener at Oulton Park this weekend and he will be replaced by Ricky Collard, BMW Junior driver. Mitchell, 19, will be racing at all seven weekends.
The duo look to be a very strong pairing and both drivers already have a great relationship with the team.
Century are entering two of the brand new BMWs in this year’s British GT Championship and they are hoping to see plenty of podium finishes coming from both driver pairings.
Mitchell says:
“Really looking forward to getting started with Nathan and the Century Motorsport team this season, having worked together before in both the Ginetta G55 Supercup Championship and the Dubai 24hr. We achieved good results from our first few races together and I am expecting similar results this year. It will be a new challenge for me, driving the new BMW GT4, a car that has impressed me after only 12 laps at Donington Park on the media day.”

Schjerpen says:
“I am very pleased to be back racing with Century Motorsport again. We have enjoyed a lot of success in the past and I am looking forward to building on that. It almost feels like I never left, we did one race together last year in the Ginetta GT3, and it’s always a pleasure working with the whole team. I am looing forward to getting behind the wheel of the new BMW M4 and I think we will be on the pace from the get go.”
Nathan Freke, Owner of Century Motorsport, says:
“It’s great to have filled the second GT4 BMW with such a strong driver pairing. Having worked with both drivers previously, it gives us a good head start and I know that they will work well together.
Jack drove the car at the media day and impressed in it straight away. Aleks will be new to it, but having worked with him since 2014, I know he will adapt well.
It’s going to be an exciting season. It’s been a long winter and we are all hungry for success!”
