CENTURY MOTORSPORT LEAVES DONINGTON AS JOINT CHAMPIONSHIP LEADERS

The British GT Championship arrived at Donington Park on 5–6 October with everything still to play for, and Century Motorsport headed into the penultimate round with championship ambitions firmly in sight. Branden Templeton and Jack Collins arrived at Donington fighting for the GT4 overall title, while Charles Clark and Jonathon Beeson continued their charge for the GT3 Drivers’ Championship and GT3 Silver Am crown. Following a strong run of practice sessions, both Century BMWs were ready for the weekend’s crucial qualifying and races, with the entire team determined to make the most of the opportunity.

Qualifying delivered a standout moment for Century Motorsport. Charles Clark and Jonathon Beeson put together a brilliant performance in the GT3, fighting hard throughout the session and ultimately securing overall pole position for the British GT race at Donington Park. It was a huge achievement for the team and a clear statement of intent heading into race day. In GT4, Branden Templeton and Jack Collins qualified P5 in the Silver class, setting themselves up for a strong fight in the championship battle.

Race day, however, brought one of those moments that defines motorsport. Starting from overall pole, the GT3 BMW had everything in place to fight for victory. Jonathon Beeson was delivering exactly what was required before an incident involving another car changed the course of the race. A car lost control and made contact with the Century BMW, sending JB off circuit and leaving the rear of the car heavily damaged.

Thankfully, Jonathon was okay, but the damage looked severe enough to bring the race to an end.

It didn’t.

JB managed to bring the damaged BMW back to the pits, where the Century Motorsport mechanics and engineers immediately got to work. With the car heavily damaged and already laps behind, the team faced a huge challenge. But there was never any question of giving up. Working with determination and belief, the team repaired the car, got it back on track and continued the fight.

The result was a hard earned P5 in class.

It wasn’t the result the team had come to Donington looking for, but it was a performance that showcased the character, resilience and determination running through Century Motorsport.

While the GT3 crew battled through adversity, Branden Templeton and Jack Collins delivered a hugely important result in the GT4 championship fight. Starting from P5 in the GT4 Silver class, the pair fought their way forward to finish P2 overall in GT4, securing a huge haul of championship points at a crucial stage of the season. The result could hardly have come at a better time. With just one round remaining, Branden Templeton and Jack Collins now head to the final round as joint leaders of the British GT GT4 overall Drivers’ Championship. From qualifying on pole in GT3 to fighting back from heavy damage, and from a P5 start to a GT4 overall podium, Donington was a weekend that once again demonstrated exactly what Century Motorsport stands for.

We came to Donington believing we could win.

We leave with a championship lead, a team that refused to give up, and everything still to play for.

Now, the focus turns to Brands Hatch.

The final round. The championship decider. And one final fight for the title.
