Jones returns to Century Motorsport for GINetta GT4 Supercup title bid

Century-Motorsport---Declan-Jones-LiveryFormer British GT4 runner-up Declan Jones will make a full time return to Century Motorsport in 2017, firmly intent on making his mark on the battle for the overall Ginetta GT4 Supercup Championship title with the backing of his brand new partner, Whitley Neill Handcrafted Dry Gin.

Jones’ return to the team came together following a discussion with Halewood Wines & Spirits, who briefly supported Declan in 2016 during his outing at Oulton Park through their Red Square Vodka brand. For 2017, Halewood Wines & Spirits will this use Declan’s Ginetta G55 to promote their Whitley Neill Handcrafted Dry Gin product, with a very eye-catching black livery.

No stranger to the BTCC support bill, Jones made a one off return to the championship at Oulton Park in June last year. Declan’s reward at his home circuit was a pair of top five finishes after a strong performance throughout the weekend, despite limited pre-event testing. However the brief outing was enough to whet his appetite to return in 2017 for a full campaign with the former championship winners.

Century-Motorsport---Declan-JonesDeclan Jones – Whitley Neill Handcrafted Dry Gin Ginetta G55:
“I’m very excited to be back in a full time drive with Century Motorsport. Last year we got a small chance to show what we could do at Oulton Park, but this year with the opportunity to test and properly prepare ourselves I hope to be right up there. For the Oulton Park round last year, we began a partnership with Halewood Wines & Spirits, and off the back of that I am thrilled that they have come on board for 2017 with their Whitley Neill Handcrafted Dry Gin product to support my title bid. I’m not going to hide the fact that I’m only coming back to win races and challenge for the title, and I believe I’ve got the right partners and the right team to do just that.”

Nathan Freke – Team Principal, Century Motorsport:
“Declan is no stranger to our team and more importantly, no stranger to winning races. His brief outing last June in Oulton Park certainly showed what was possible in a short space of time in the car, but now with a full confirmed programme nice and early, we can ensure Declan is properly ready for the opening round in Brands Hatch to get the year off to the best possible start. Joining Ben Green, I am very happy with our Supercup line-up so far going into the new season.”
