Century kick off 2018 GT4 Supercup programme with Michael Crees

Just weeks since taking the 2017 Ginetta GT4 Supercup title race down to the final rounds at Brands Hatch with Ben Green, Century Motorsport have already turned their focus to 2018, having signed recently crowned GRDC+ Champion Michael Crees for his graduation to the highly competitive series.

Crees, a motor racing rookie needed just one single season of racing in Ginetta’s popular GRDC+ category for newcomers to the sport to become a champion. A regular winner in this year’s championship, Michael has equipped himself with very familiar machinery from the Century stable in the form of the ex-Ben Green Ginetta G55, a car that won the 2015 overall title in the hands of Tom Oliphant.

Eyeing Century Motorsport as the team to take him from the enjoyable GRDC+ series up into the ultra-strong Ginetta GT4 Supercup, his rapid development so far is sure to set him up well for some strong results in the AM class when the 2018 season kicks off at Brands Hatch.

Michael Crees:
“I am so happy about joining the team and can’t wait to start testing and meeting everyone at Century Motorsport! I know it is a massive step up from GRDC+ but I’m up for the challenge. I feel this is the right step forward and a great stepping stone for my future. I would like to thank Vince Caldicott at PCS Premier Contact Supplies who was the one that believed in me and has made it all happen. Also Hansgrohe, Roca Wavin, Graham Creesons and DDS Demolition.

Nathan Freke – Team Principal, Century Motorsport:
“We’re absolutely delighted to be one of the first teams on the grid to start announcing our 2018 driver line up. There’s no doubt that Michael has been a real star in GRDC+ this year and his dominant performances at the wheel of his G40 will certainly set him up well to mix it with the main players next year. It was a great feeling to be back challenging for the overall title this year, and I’m confident 2018 will be no different.”
